The ceremonial launch of natural gas took place in the agro-town of Rzhavka, Beshenkovichy District.

For rural residents, the arrival of blue fuel – one of the most economical and environmentally friendly – means an improved standard of living.

— All of this is made possible by the policy pursued by the President of our country, — noted the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Andreichenko.

The gasification of settlements is one of the main tasks of the state program "Comfortable Housing and a Conducive Environment". In the Vitebsk region, a developed and reliable gas supply system for all districts has been created and is functioning thanks to the daily hard work and high dedication of the work collective of UP "Vitebskoblgaz", which employs three thousand people. Over the past 20 years, almost 6,000 kilometers of gas pipelines have been built in the region, and more than 200,000 apartments in over 360 settlements have been converted to natural gas, with a focus on the use of modern technologies.

As of today, the Beshenkovichi district holds a respectable position in the region in terms of gas network length. Over 130 km of networks are operated here. Natural gas has been supplied to 11 rural settlements and 7 out of 12 agro-towns. To supply blue fuel, a supply gas pipeline approximately 9 km long was built in Rzhavka. 20 apartments in three multi-apartment residential buildings, previously gasified from liquefied gas tank installations, have been converted to natural gas. In the future, in Rzhavka, Nizhniy Krivino, and adjacent settlements, over 300 private households, as well as a dairy farm and a grain drying complex, may be gasified.

— This will give an impetus to the development of both social and production spheres, — emphasized the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin. — We plan to further develop the Vitebsk region, from the tourism segment to the industrial one. For example, the highway on which the Beshenkovichi district is located will be modernized. It is planned to have two lanes in each direction, similar to the M1 highway, to connect Vitebsk and Minsk via this route as well. The development of transport infrastructure will lead to expanded opportunities for roadside services and the emergence of new industries.
