12 September, Lepel /Own. inf./. The flax factory workers have grown a good flax harvest, with an average accepted flax straw grade of 0.98. The flax straw has been well-retted, with a significant proportion of long fibre. The immediate task is to dry it and transport it to the enterprise.
Out of 646 hectares of harvested flax crops, straw has been transported from 154 hectares. In addition, flax stalks have been turned over on 63 hectares and fluffed up on another 349 hectares. This way, it dries and becomes suitable for pressing into bales. 277 tonnes of flax straw have been transported from 154 hectares, from which approximately 90 tonnes of fibre are expected to be obtained. Flax factory workers and supervisors are working on the windrows for the further harvesting of the "northern silk".
