One third of the control and analytical measures conducted by the Vitebsk Regional Committee for State Control are carried out in the form of monitoring, the control authority informed a BELTA correspondent. The Committee for State Control focuses primarily on preventing violations. Approximately 35% of all control and analytical measures have been conducted in the form of monitoring. Strengthening the proactive nature of work has allowed for obtaining information on the state of affairs in the supervised economic sectors without increasing the control burden on entities, and has improved the promptness and effectiveness of control measures. Over the past 8 months of the current year, specialists of the Regional Committee for State Control conducted 119 inspections, resulting in the recovery of Br28.3 billion to the budget. Tangible assets were converted to state revenue, and fixed assets worth Br36 billion were registered or revalued. Compared to the same period in 2011, the amount of saved state funds increased 114-fold, reaching Br67.6 billion. As noted by the Committee for State Control, a balanced approach has been ensured in imposing administrative penalties on business entities. Administrative penalties were applied taking into account the degree of fault and the financial situation of the inspected entities. Over 8 months of 2012, administrative penalties totaling Br12.6 billion were imposed, while the maximum amount of administrative fines established by law is Br42.5 billion. 408 violators were brought to administrative responsibility, and 605 to disciplinary responsibility. -0-
