On November 9, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Three pilot experimental sites for the production of high-tech products have been established at the technopark of Polotsk State University (PSU), the university's Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Dmitry Glukhov informed a BELTA correspondent. PSU is one of the lead organizations implementing the regional scientific and technical program (RSTP) "Innovative Development of the Vitebsk Region". The technopark has created pilot experimental sites for the production of technological and stamping equipment, and for the manufacturing of cooling units and heat exchangers. The technopark also carries out contract research work on the production and sale of other high-tech products, and the repair of complex equipment. Currently, work is underway to create new production facilities that will help promote innovative developments of university scientists to the market. In particular, the technology for manufacturing wall blocks from modified arbolite based on wood waste is at the stage of industrial implementation, and pilot samples of environmentally safe thermal insulation boards made from straw shives are undergoing field tests before being put into production. The PSU Science and Technology Park has chosen a mixed development path, which includes the implementation of business incubator ideas and the creation of its own production. The technopark has five main areas of innovative work: processing and transportation of hydrocarbon raw materials, mechanical engineering, construction, information technologies, and radio electronics. Work is underway to attract companies as residents of the technopark. There are 8 potential resident enterprises and organizations for the technopark. -0-
