Polotsk border guards and police officers of the Verkhnedvinsk district detained three local residents transporting 74 kg of freshly cut hemp in a car, the press center of the State Border Committee (SBC) of Belarus informed a BELTA correspondent. Law enforcement officers became aware of the existence of a hemp plantation near the Western Dvina River. "We didn't have to wait long - at night, during operational-search activities, a Renault Megane car was detained, carrying three local residents. 74 kg of freshly cut hemp were seized from the foreign car," the SBC stated. Investigative measures have been initiated in this regard. As noted by the committee, one of the detainees is 17 years old, and the other two were born in 1991. -0-
