On September 30, Minsk /Alina Grishkevich - BELTA/. The workers of Molodechno district are meeting the festival guests with good results. This was noted by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, speaking today at the republican festival-fair of agricultural workers "Dazhynki-2011", as reported by a BELTA correspondent. The Head of State emphasized that in Molodechno district, the gross grain harvest and its yield have increased by more than 1.5 times compared to last year. Nine out of twenty farms in the district have received over forty centners of grain per hectare. This has never happened here before. "For the fifteenth time in the modern history of Belarus, we honor the heroes of the harvest. 'Dazhynki' is, figuratively speaking, the finest hour for grain growers, as well as a joyous celebration for the entire nation," said Alexander Lukashenko. According to him, the tradition of celebrating the end of the harvest dates back to ancient times. The profession of a grain grower has always been respected in our land. And in people's perception of a prosperous life, wise sayings such as "bread is the head of everything" and "if there is bread, there will be songs" have become firmly established. The President believes that this holiday is doubly valuable for us: both as a tribute to our ancestors and as an opportunity to express sincere words of gratitude to everyone who worked tirelessly in the fields. There is another remarkable feature of this holiday – the large-scale improvement and true revival of the places that have earned the right to host the republican festival-fair of agricultural workers. This year, Molodechno is hosting the celebration. "We all see: the city has been completely transformed. A beautiful amphitheater has been built. A sports and entertainment center with an ice rink and a water park has been opened. The children's hospital has been reconstructed, where the most complex operations for children can be performed," noted Alexander Lukashenko. The city has grown with the new microdistrict Vostochny. Shops and many other infrastructure facilities have appeared here. Next year, a kindergarten and a school will open.
