Surely, no one from Lepel could have passed by the bright poster displayed on Freedom Square, which announced the premiere of the play "Three Sad Husbands, One Cheerful" by V. Lyapin on the stage of the district House of Culture. On the premiere day, the auditorium was completely full. Many spectators, who have long been fans of the folk theatre "Poisk" (Search), wished to see the performance.
Cheerful musical chords sound, the stage gradually fills with light – and an interesting scene unfolds before the audience: a cozy village yard, a small house. Three men – Stas Klepikav, Pyotr Shyshigin, and Pavel Charnyaha – come to visit their acquaintance Lyubov Kryvakrasavaya. All of them were once married to this woman. Finally, Lyubov Ivanovna has found her happiness. For a while, there was a discord in her family, and the woman decides to send a telegram to all her ex-husbands: "Come immediately. Your love." At that moment, she probably couldn't believe herself that all the husbands would agree to come to their ex-wife, and at the same time…
The modern comedy was very warmly received by the audience. Both the elderly and the youth laughed heartily. Applause did not cease throughout the entire performance. The audience sincerely sympathized and at the same time laughed at the absurd actions of the unsuccessful men, the enterprising wife, her beloved husband, and other characters. At the same time, each of the actors managed to perfectly convey the image of a particular character with their inherent facial expressions and voice timbre. When the last act ended and the artists came out to take a bow, the audience applauded the artists standing and even called for an "encore." Undoubtedly, this became the greatest reward for the actors.
A feature of this year's performance was that it involved young actors, half of whom were debutants. Among the theatre actors are cultural workers, journalists, and a programmer. All these people are united by a love for creativity, art, and the desire to bring joy to people. It would seem that after a working day people are tired, but as soon as a rehearsal begins – all fatigue immediately disappears. The creative process brings us real pleasure. And the audience always feels it.
The role of the husband, Mikola Kryvakrasau, was excellently performed by Dzmitry Mikhno, who works as the director of the district organizational and methodological center of folk art. The role of his wife, Lyubou Ivanovna, was played by Yuliya Kunchauskaya, head of the folk club "Veteran" of the RDK. Pyotr Shyshigin was played by Vasily Matyrka, a correspondent for the district newspaper "Lepelsky Krai". Pavel Charnyaha was played by director Vital Khvatinets, and Stas Klepikau was played by Syargey Lyaukovich, a programmer-system specialist at OJSC "Lepel Repair and Mechanical Plant". The role of the bride, Natallya Markauna, was performed by journalist Svyatlana Silvanovich, and the role of Vera was played by Tatyana Stryzhonak, director of the Povsvizh rural House of Culture.
A wonderful addition to the stage action was the magnificent decorations made by Ivan Tomskikh. The sound director of the play was Syargey Audzeyeu, the decorator was Yauhen Yasyukevich, and the lighting design was handled by Viktor Pshonka and Alyaksandr Litvin. By the way, Vital Khvatinets worked on the play not only as a director but also as a scenographer and composer. It was he who wrote the music and lyrics for the song performed as a duet by Mikola and Lyubou Kryvakrasau.
The play was shown on the stage of the "Shklovlakno" Palace of Culture as part of the regional festival "Theatrical Spring-2012". Along with the artists from Lepel, 15 theatrical groups from the Vitebsk region performed their productions on the stage of the Palace of Culture. The second place was awarded to the folk theater "Vremya" of the Novopolotsk GDK, and the third place was taken by the young artists of the exemplary theatrical group "Paulinka" of the state educational institution "Gymnasium No. 2 of Novopolotsk".
