7 November, Sharkovshchina /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. The Central District Hospital was opened today in Sharkovshchina (Vitebsk region), reports BELTA correspondent. The opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets, representatives of the regional executive committee's healthcare department, local authorities, and the public of the urban settlement. "The construction of this hospital began fifteen years ago, it was suspended in 2003 and resumed only in 2009. The total investment amounted to over Br40 billion. And today we are opening a healthcare facility that meets all European requirements," noted Alexander Kosinets. The hospital includes a central sterilization department, a laundry, an oxygen station, a garage, and a ward block with reception, therapy, surgery, and pediatric departments, which are equipped with high-performance medical equipment, including ECG machines, cardiac monitors, a fetal monitor, ultrasound machines, artificial lung ventilation, and endoscopic equipment. Comfortable wards are equipped for patient stays. The hospital also houses an outpatient department and a pharmacy. The application of high technologies will allow the hospital's doctors to conduct remote consultations with specialized professionals of the Vitebsk Regional Diagnostic Center. "At the same time, the task has been set for 2013-2014 to establish a similar connection with this healthcare institution for all district centers," emphasized the chairman of the regional executive committee. More than a dozen construction organizations were involved in the construction of the hospital, including Sharkovshchina PMK-68, Glubokoe SPMK-26, "Ventmontazh" (Novopolotsk), as well as builders from Glubokoe, Vitebsk, Polotsk, Novopolotsk, Dokshitsy. The customer of the facility was the Capital Construction Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the design organization was "Institute Vitebskgrazhdanproekt", and the general contractor was KUPPS "Polotskselstroy". The governor expressed words of gratitude to all representatives of these enterprises for their coordinated and effective work.
