Centers for science and technology support are proposed to be established in Belarus, as reported by Anatoly Silchenko, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology, during the Business Ideas Forum, according to a BELTA correspondent.
"It is proposed to establish centers for science and technology support, particularly in the Brest region. They can be branches of science and technology parks or the Republican Center for Technology Transfer. Such centers allow for the use of all international patent databases," said Anatoly Silchenko.
He noted that the task of the Business Ideas Forum is to identify the problems that arise in the process of implementing innovative products and commercializing innovative developments. "It is important for us to understand what difficulties arise and where efforts should be concentrated to overcome them. We will also discuss what services and assistance the SCST can provide. One of them is patent and information search," added the Deputy Chairman of the SCST.
According to him, the SCST is currently working on reducing the cost of patent fees. "We are aware of this problem, and a draft resolution is currently being worked out," added Anatoly Silchenko.
The Business Ideas Forum is part of the Belarusian Industrial Forum program. Its organizers are the State Committee on Science and Technology and the unitary enterprise "Expoforum".
