This was announced today during a direct telephone line with the residents of the region by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, reports BELTA correspondent. Monitoring the cost of medicines has shown that prices for some of them are unreasonably high. In this regard, starting next week, a 10% price reduction is expected in the region's pharmacy network for 113 drugs most in demand among the population. According to Alexander Kosinets, the pricing system for all medicines, including imported ones, should be reviewed. Currently, in accordance with the recommendation of the Ministry of Health, Vitebsk UP "Farmatsiya" has organized the dispensing of 66 types of medicines and medical devices with a five percent discount for pensioners, disabled people, large families, mothers on childcare leave up to three years of age, as well as those raising children with disabilities. Discounted medicines are dispensed to low-income citizens by 29 pharmacies of the trade and production republican unitary enterprise "Farmatsiya". The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee also demanded that close attention be paid to the pricing policy of Vitebsk dairy producers. Recently, low-fat cottage cheese has disappeared from the retail network, and in its place, the manufacturer offers a product of the same fat content with bioadditives, but its cost is almost three times higher than usual.
