9 September, Minsk /BELTA/. Sugar prices in Belarus have been increased by 20% from 9 September 2011. This was reported to BELTA by the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Economy. This is stipulated by the Resolution of the Ministry of Economy of 5 September 2011 No. 145 "On Amending and Supplementing the Resolution of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus of 25 April 2011 No. 62". The document was adopted taking into account the proposals of the Belgospishcheprom concern, in order to compensate sugar processing organizations for raw material costs due to the increased cost of sugar beet of the 2011 harvest, the Ministry of Economy noted. This resolution establishes maximum retail prices instead of fixed retail prices for sugar, the level of which has been increased by 20% compared to the current fixed retail prices for white granulated sugar without additives, sold by weight and packaged in 1 kg bags. Thus, the maximum retail price for granulated sugar packaged in consumer packaging weighing from 0.5 kg to 1 kg has been set at Br6 thousand per 1 kg. The Resolution of the Ministry of Economy No. 145 has been published on the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus and comes into force on 9 September 2011.-0-
