The grand opening ceremony of the International Children's Song Contest "Eurovision-2018" will take place on November 19 at the National Exhibition Centre "BelExpo" and will mark the beginning of a grand Euro-week, the press service of Belteleradiocompany informed a BELTA correspondent.
All 20 delegations from participating countries will walk the red carpet and share their impressions with journalists. "More than 300 people will take part in the ceremony, including the contestants themselves and their accompanying delegations, invited guests, volunteers, and Belarusian and foreign journalists," the press service stated.
One of the most spectacular elements of the opening ceremony will be a 3D Mapping Show, which will incorporate various genres of stage art: dance, folk music in a modern arrangement, computer graphics, and a 3D light projection show. "Through the idea of combining art, national images and symbols with innovative technologies, the show will present the historical and cultural heritage of our people and modern Belarus. Also, during the opening, a draw will be held, which, according to the rules of the European Broadcasting Union, will determine the countries performing in the first and last positions, as well as the position for the host country, Belarus," Belteleradiocompany noted.
The grand opening ceremony will be broadcast live not only to Belarusian viewers but also to fans of Junior Eurovision in all European countries, as well as Australia. Belteleradiocompany will record the ceremony and provide the broadcast to all interested broadcasters - members of the EBU. The channels "Belarus 1" and "Belarus 24" will show the TV version immediately after "Panorama". It will also be available on the official website of the media holding, www.tvr.by.
The International Children's Song Contest "Eurovision-2018" will be held in Belarus on November 25. Belteleradiocompany, as the sole member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in the country, acts as the organiser and coordinator of all events for the music project. This year, the country will be represented by Daniel Yastremski.
