The Central Election Commission of Belarus recommends that district commissions register all candidates on the same day, the head of the CEC, Lidiya Yermoshina, told reporters today, BELTA correspondent reports. "We recommend registering everyone simultaneously, even if all the documents for some of them have already been checked. We asked everyone to register on the penultimate possible day, August 22. It is possible that where the commission cannot cope, registration will take place on August 23. But, again, this is on equal terms," said the head of the Central Election Commission. Lidiya Yermoshina noted that the process of registering candidates for deputies is quite complex. Commissions must verify the authenticity of the information contained in income and property declarations. For this purpose, requests are sent to the tax inspectorate, the traffic police, and other bodies. "It takes a certain amount of time for these requests to be sent and for responses to be received," explained the head of the CEC.-0-
