The ecological trail scheme was developed by scientists from the National Academy of Sciences. The route includes about 20 stops with benches and information stands, allowing visitors to see rare plant species, including protected varieties of lichens and mosses. "Everything is almost ready now, we have cleared the plantings and removed deadwood and dangerous trees. From August, the "Belmont Park" tourist trail will be available to tourists," said Natalia Arkhipenko. "Belmont Park" was founded in the 18th century. At that time, a palace was built on its territory, which subsequently belonged to the famous Plater family. Ancient alleys, beautiful glades, ponds, old ramparts, and moats have been preserved in the park. In 2011, specialists from the "Braslav Lakes" National Park had already restored the "Slabodkovskaya Ozovaya Gryada" ecological trail. During the Soviet period, it was already a natural monument. It was maintained by a local collective farm. Later, the trail was forgotten. Now, it has been decided to revive this place and make it attractive to tourists. The trail was restored with the financial support of the Nature Protection Fund. The ridge itself is a product of the activity of the last post-glacial lake. The peculiarity of the ridge is that it is located between two lakes. First and foremost, it is valuable as an observation point of the lake-glacial landscape of the Braslav coast. "There are seven main stations on the route, each of which provides information about history, geography, and geology, as well as rare species of animals and plants," shared Ivan Tsyul, a representative of the scientific department of the "Braslav Lakes" National Park. Currently, the "Braslav Lakes" National Park is working on improving the " Gora Mayak" ecological trail. All work is planned to be completed in 2013. -0-
