January 9, Vitebsk / Alena Tikhonova - BELTA/. The tourist infrastructure of the Vitebsk region will be supplemented with 22 new facilities in the Year of Hospitality, the Department of Sports and Tourism of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent.
In accordance with the "Five Hundred" subprogram of the Regional Program for Innovative and Investment Development of the Vitebsk Region, it is planned to commission 11 hunting lodges and the same number of agro-ecotourism estates this year. In addition, at least five new roadside service facilities will be built and 25 recreation areas on rivers and lakes will be equipped.
The construction of roadside service facilities and the equipping of recreation areas in the region are being carried out most actively – 10 districts and 9 cities have already fully coped with the assigned task. Braslavsky, Chashniksky and Sharkovshchinsky districts have fulfilled the plan for hunting lodges by 100%.
"Filling the created tourist infrastructure with quality services with local flavour will be one of the main accents of the Year of Hospitality in the Vitebsk region," the department emphasized.
The "Five Hundred" subprogram provides for the creation of developed tourism infrastructure. From 2011 to 2016, the region should additionally have 100 roadside service facilities, 100 hunting lodges, 100 agro-ecotourism estates, and 200 recreation areas on rivers and lakes.
In the Vitebsk region, from 2011 to 2013, 89 roadside service facilities, 66 hunting lodges, and 183 agro-ecotourism estates were commissioned, and 172 recreation areas on water bodies were improved.-0-
