An international mini-football tournament will bring together energy sector professionals from six countries in Vitebsk, as reported to BelTA correspondent by the press service of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus.
The grand opening of the 25th anniversary tournament will take place on November 9 at 5:00 PM in the sports hall of the CSK FC "Vitebsk". The competitions for energy sector professionals from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Latvia, and Hungary will be held at various sports venues in Vitebsk and Novolukoml (Chashniki District) until November 13. Twenty-seven teams have declared their intention to participate in the competitions, including 6 veteran teams (over 40 years old). Each region of Belarus will be represented by 2 teams at the tournament. Approximately 400 athletes are expected to attend. For the first time, energy sector professionals from Hungary will participate in the competitions. In previous years, participants included representatives from Lithuania, France, China, and other countries.
"Over its many years of history, the tournament has become a hallmark of Belarusian energy sector professionals. Previously, Novolukoml hosted the footballers, but due to a significant increase in the number of participants, the championship's venue had to be changed. This year, the main competitions will be held in Vitebsk, while only veteran teams will compete in Novolukoml," the organizers noted.
The sporting battles will last for 4 days. In addition to the competition program, athletes will have the opportunity to take sightseeing tours of Vitebsk and visit museums.
The tournament is organized by the republican committee of the Belarusian Trade Union of Workers of the Energy, Gas and Fuel Industry.
