The Main Directorate of Traffic Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that during such periods, pedestrians, cyclists, and operators of personal mobility devices (PMDs) are in the most vulnerable position.When using a bicycle or PMD for transportation, remember that you must dismount at all pedestrian crossings, except in cases where there is a bicycle traffic light or a special sign permitting you not to dismount [1]. Within populated areas, the speed of PMDs should not exceed 10 km/h (except when riding on cycle paths and the edge of the roadway); outside populated areas, it should not exceed 25 km/h.
In darkness or poor visibility, a white headlight must be switched on at the front, and a red taillight at the rear. Outside populated areas, the use of a reflective vest is mandatory.
Parents, remind your children of the basic rules for safe behaviour when crossing the roadway! Before crossing the road, you must stop, look left, then right, ensure that vehicles are yielding to you, and only then proceed. Do not run out onto the road from behind stationary vehicles or bushes, and do not play near the roadway!
