The registrars' task is to clarify the list and characteristics of all buildings where people live or may live within 19 working days.
A total of 1001 people will be involved in compiling lists of houses and premises in cities, urban-type settlements, and large rural settlements, including 164 in the Brest region, 158 in the Vitebsk region, 187 in the Gomel region, 116 in the Grodno region, 181 in the Minsk region, 151 in the Mogilev region, and 44 in Minsk.
It is planned to involve employees of bodies responsible for the operation or maintenance of the housing stock as registrars. They must be adult citizens proficient in using tablet computers and in good physical condition, as they will have to walk a lot. District administrations are currently forming the lists of registrars. All approved individuals will undergo training, be insured, and receive identification cards and tablet computers for the duration of their work.
Inna Medvedeva, Chairperson of the National Statistical Committee, emphasised that this work is being carried out by order of the head of state. "The data obtained from the census will then form the basis for the work of all spheres and sectors. This large-scale work will be carried out at a high level according to international standards," said the head of Belstat.
