A Christmas imitation of a wedding celebration, not a real one but in a playful form, took place at the district House of Culture. This is an event that is almost impossible to encounter anywhere else.

“Tereshka’s Wedding” is not just a game, but a genuine cultural tradition with roots stretching back into the distant past.

The celebration was accompanied by cheerful traditional dances. Well, what is a wedding without dancing.

Each attendee became part of this vibrant event, finding themselves in an atmosphere of merriment and music.

Participants, including many young people, actively engaged in the games.

The Christmas ritual game “Tereshka’s Wedding” is a wedding-theatrical performance that combines theatre, singing, dancing, music, and improvisation.

The essence of the game lies in providing an opportunity for young people to express their affection for acquaintance and find a partner. Elders select a “father” and “mother” who oversee the order of the “Tereshka’s Wedding” ritual, the ritualistic feast, and the general celebration where there are no spectators or performers; everyone is a participant.

Quite often, the participating couples in the Christmas ritual game later have a real wedding.

Special thanks to the ensemble "Krugaverć" for preserving traditions and for a wonderful event.
