The Lepel District Organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society has a new head: this decision was made at the regular reporting and election conference.

The event was attended by Svetlana Shevelyova, Head of the Ideological Work and Youth Affairs Department of the district executive committee, Chairperson of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society Galina Zhelаnova, and her deputy Mikhail Merzlyak.

Among the main agenda items was the election of the chairperson of the district organization. Olga Masеutova was elected by vote. The powers were solemnly transferred to her from the previous leader of the organization, Elena Sukhomirova.

Addressing the attendees, the district's chief ideologist Svetlana Shevelyova noted that the members of the district organization participate not only in events held by educational, healthcare, and social protection institutions but also in the socio-political life of the district and the country. She also expressed confidence that the work of the district organization will reach a qualitatively new level.

Galina Zhelаnova shared her experience of the regional organization's activities. She spoke about business initiatives, assistance to irregular migrants, and partner search. The work of first aid instructors was particularly highlighted.
