In November, a road safety month is being held in the region, during which a number of institutions, structures, and enterprises will be involved. The first event was a meeting of the district executive committee commission on road safety, attended by representatives of the electricity grids district, the department of agriculture, the college, the state vocational lyceum, the education department, KUPP ZhKG "Lepel", and others. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee, Alexander Shidlovsky, and the Head of the Traffic Police Department of the District Department of Internal Affairs, Police Captain Alexander Trusov.
A program for the implementation of the month's events in the Lepel region has been developed, with a focus on the most problematic areas. First and foremost, it is planned to strengthen preventive activities in all areas: through the media, in schools and secondary vocational educational institutions, and at enterprises.
Due to the shortening of daylight hours and the early onset of darkness, ensuring the population is equipped with retroreflective elements is crucial. Preventive discussions on this topic are planned with schoolchildren, college and lyceum students, and their parents. A number of retail outlets in the district will be checked for the availability of reflective elements for sale. Special attention will be paid to the use of special clothing with retroreflective elements by employees of agricultural enterprises.
One of the decisions made was to conduct joint raids by the traffic police and the district agricultural supply department in agricultural organizations to inspect tractors, trailers, and other vehicles, including horse-drawn carts.
The electricity grids district has been tasked with ensuring 100% functionality of street lighting in settlements, especially those located near republican highways.
