25 May, Polotsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Belarusian artists should continue to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest. This viewpoint was expressed in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent by Vladimir Karachevsky, First Deputy Minister of Culture of Belarus, commenting on the performance of the group Litesound in the semi-final of the contest. In his opinion, the Eurovision Song Contest is one of the most subjective. Here, the assessment of a performance does not always depend on the quality of execution or vocal abilities. "This is one of the most unpredictable contests," Vladimir Karachevsky is convinced. Assessing Litesound's performance, the interlocutor, a professional musician himself, noted: "They did everything they could, they did not get flustered, the performance went smoothly, without glitches. They did what they could." The issue of a possible change in the format of the national selection contest for Eurovision requires discussion, but participation in this contest must continue, Vladimir Karachevsky is convinced. "In any case, we will not give up. We need to try. Let young artists try themselves. It is enough to recall the experience of Russia, which for many years was not perceived by the Eurovision Song Contest. However, they found their niche, and success came. We also need to learn, we need to break into new platforms, to declare ourselves as a country with many talented people who deserve respect," believes Vladimir Karachevsky.
