On September 7, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. An international kettlebell championship will be held in Vitebsk from September 7-9, the Vitebsk City Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. The event will take place at the "Dynamo" Central Sports Complex. More than 170 athletes from 13 countries of near and far abroad will participate. Belarus will be represented by about 30 people. Competitions are organised by age categories, which are divided into five-year periods, starting from five years old. The youngest participant will be a 5-year-old preschooler, and the oldest will be an 87-year-old veteran of the Great Patriotic War from Ukraine. The weight of the kettlebells that athletes will have to lift also varies significantly – from 4 kg to 50 kg. During the championship, contenders for victory will perform various exercise complexes: "Olympic Triathlon", "Sprint", "Kettlebell All-Around", "Marathon" (lifting kettlebells for an hour or more), "Half Marathon" (lifting kettlebells for 30 minutes), "Free Nomination" (kettlebells of any weight can be used for lifting). Participant registration begins today. The competitions themselves will be held on September 8-9. Admission for spectators is free. Winners in the nominations will be awarded as athletes perform. The event is organised by the International Confederation of Kettlebell Sport Masters, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the Vitebsk City Executive Committee.-0-
