Training evacuation

A drill evacuation is one of the most important, responsible, and complex measures within the system of fire safety provisions at an institution.

The main objective of conducting a drill is a comprehensive check of the institution's readiness to carry out a quick evacuation, safe for the health and lives of employees, in case of a fire at the facility. The safety of an institution will not appear on its own; it requires meticulous work, planning of preventive measures, and practical staff training. With well-trained adults and children, as well as clear coordination of the measures taken, it is possible to protect against the consequences of any emergency situation.

Training evacuations are most often conducted in educational institutions, as children are a very vulnerable part of the population, and their reactions and behaviour in an emergency situation can be unpredictable. In other organisations, such events are an integral part of employee training and are carried out according to a set schedule. After all, places with mass gatherings of people also pose a high risk of casualties in an emergency situation if the actions of employees are not precise and coordinated.

The primary task of the institution's employees during an evacuation is to organise everyone present in the premises through corridors and staircases as quickly as possible, within minutes of receiving a fire alert, to lead them out of the building and prevent panic.

After everyone in the building has evacuated, a roll call is mandatory to ensure that no one is left inside. Drill evacuations are conducted in real-time, regardless of weather conditions; the situation should be as close to reality as possible.
