"Regarding the duration of the academic year, it is proposed to slightly shorten it for the 9th and 11th grades. Currently, it is set until May 31. It is planned to set the duration until May 25," said Vadim Bogush. This will be done to better plan the final school examinations.
Vadim Bogush also outlined other provisions at the general secondary education level that are proposed to be included in the Education Code. In particular, this includes admission to school from the age of 6. However, at the request of legal representatives, such admission may be carried out at a later age. If legal representatives wish and there is a conclusion from local authorities, admission to school may also be carried out at an earlier age.
It is envisaged to introduce specialised education at the third stage of general secondary education and the possibility of holding elective classes on the sixth school day for students in grades 5-9.
