The eighth republican youth boxing tournament was held in Krupki with the participation of athletes from Gomel, Minsk, Vetka, Mogilev, Baranovichi, and Smolevichi. Pupils of the specialized children's and youth sports school of the trade union Olympic reserve "SportAlliance" from Lepel brought home three silver medals – Vladislav Zakrevsky, Alexey Puzanov, and Vasily Khalyavkin in the men's 80 kg category, and two bronze medals – Kirill Demko in his weight category and Evgeny Markovsky. Coach Alexander Konovalov refers to such trips as "shakedowns," meaning the more the lads participate in various competitions, the more experience and confidence they gain in the ring.
