On October 5, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. A criminal case has been initiated against the driver of an Audi in connection with a road traffic accident in Sennensky District, as reported to BELTA by Andrey Kozlov, Head of the Sennensky District Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus. The criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 317 of the Criminal Code of Belarus for violation of traffic rules, which resulted in negligent infliction of grievous bodily harm. Investigative actions are currently underway. Approximately 16 forensic medical, auto-technical, and trace evidence examinations, as well as an investigative experiment, have been commissioned. The results of these will help determine the degree of culpability of the 22-year-old man who was driving the Audi A8. The accident occurred on October 3, at approximately 7:30 AM, on the 4th kilometre of the Senno-Beshenkovichi-Ushachi road, near the village of Korolevichi. While overtaking, the driver of the Audi A8 collided with the front left wheel of a GAZ-53 Volgar bus transporting people to their workplace. As a result of the collision, the bus went into a ditch and overturned. Among the injured were 12 people who were taken to Sennensky Central District Hospital, including three in serious condition. Currently, four of them have already been discharged for outpatient treatment, and 8 remain under medical care, reported Elena Vysotskaya, Deputy Chief Physician for Medical Affairs at Sennensky Central District Hospital. A patient born in 1965, who underwent skull surgery, remains in intensive care. His condition is assessed as stable but serious, with improvement. On October 6, the man is scheduled to be transferred for examination by neurosurgeons at Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital. Two other patients who were in serious condition were transferred to a ward today. Their condition and that of another patient are moderate, while the rest are satisfactory. -0-
