March 6, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. A criminal case has been initiated into the illegal shooting of two elk in the Vitebsk region, reported to BELTA correspondent Inna Gorbacheva, chief inspector of the information and public relations group of the Investigative Committee Department for the Vitebsk region.
Law enforcement agencies were informed about the illegal shooting of animals by employees of the environmental protection service, who discovered on February 25 in a field near the village of Skrydlevo, Vitebsk region, the remains of a dismembered elk and, nearby in the bushes, another killed animal. The damage is estimated at Br6.6 million.
On March 5, a criminal case was initiated against an unidentified person under Part 4 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code, which provides for up to 6 years of imprisonment, for illegal hunting that caused damage on a particularly large scale. An investigation is underway, and the perpetrators are being identified. -0-
