The Prosecutor's Office of Lepel District supported the state prosecution against a 36-year-old resident of Lepel – he is accused of threatening to kill.

During the court investigation, it was established that a previously unconvicted, unemployed 36-year-old resident of Lepel, while in a state of alcoholic intoxication in a public place – near the first entrance of a building in the village of Zaslonovo, Lepel District, holding a double-barreled smoothbore hunting rifle, verbally threatened to kill his wife in the presence of other persons, realizing that such a threat to kill caused his wife genuine fear for her life. Frightened by P.'s actions, she ran into the apartment of the aforementioned building, and P. followed his wife into the entrance of the same building, where, wishing to instill fear and insecurity in his wife, he fired the rifle at the entrance doors of the aforementioned apartment.

The accused P. pleaded guilty to the crime he was charged with during the court hearing and expressed sincere remorse for his actions.

Taking into account the evidence presented by the state prosecutor, the court rendered a guilty verdict. Pursuant to Article 186 of the Criminal Code, the man was sentenced to arrest for a term of 3 months.

The double-barreled smoothbore hunting rifle was subject to special confiscation and seized for state ownership.

The verdict has entered into legal force.
