The profitability of milk production at KUVSGP "Lepelskoe" last year was nine percent. Is this a lot or a little? Some enterprises can boast of profitability in tens, or even hundreds of percent, however, they are usually associated with petrochemical production. In agriculture, eight to ten percent is considered a good, stable indicator. Moreover, the main indicator of any economic activity in the current conditions should be profitability – such is the relentless law of a market economy.
KUVSGP "Lepelskoe" has 2446 head of cattle on its five farms, including 855 dairy cows. The gross daily milk yield is 9800 – 9850 kilograms, with the average daily yield per cow ranging from 11.6 to 11.8 kilograms. On the one hand, it is understandable that this is not much, even little. On the other hand, let's consider that it is the middle of winter, a period of drying off, when most cows are pregnant, and many are not milked at all, awaiting calving. From mid-February, the period of mass calving begins, when with the birth of calves, milk yields increase significantly.
Milk commercialization is maintained at 85 percent. Most of the production is sold to the dairy processing plant as "extra" grade, and the rest as "highest" grade. For a kilogram of "extra" grade, the farm receives 4280 rubles, and for the "highest" grade – 3687 rubles.
All livestock processes are managed by the deputy director of the enterprise for livestock, Victoria Valevich. Periodic farm inspections, checks on feeding regimes and keeping conditions are just some of her responsibilities.
After repair and reconstruction, all farms have been modernized. And the new complex, being built in Maly Poussvizh, is designed to be fully robotic, with human involvement in the milk production process being minimized.
In the livestock sector, the average accrued salary for December was 3013 thousand rubles, and for milkmaids – 3301 thousand rubles. Taking it by farms, the highest salary was for milkmaids from the farm in Poddubye – 3992 thousand rubles, and in Velyki Poussvizh – 3850 thousand rubles. Livestock workers in Velyki Poussvizh are not far behind – 3654 thousand rubles. However, the average salary of livestock workers on the farm in Maly Poussvizh is, to put it mildly, unimpressive – only 1561 thousand rubles.
