This was announced today by the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, Sergei Rumas, at a joint meeting of the two chambers of the National Assembly, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. "The level of real monetary incomes of the population in 2011 will be at least 100% compared to 2010," said the Deputy Prime Minister. Sergei Rumas acknowledged that in the current economic conditions, "certain adverse phenomena objectively arise, the most painful of which are related to the deterioration of the population's living standards." The government has organised a system for identifying emerging threats and is taking measures to minimise them. The main task of state policy in the field of remuneration is to maintain the real content of wages. For January-September 2011, the level of real disposable monetary incomes of the population compared to the corresponding period of last year was 104.8%. The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that the government is taking measures to balance the consumer market. "This required manual work by the government," he stated. The necessary range of consumer and industrial goods has been maintained in the retail trade network. At the same time, the consumer market is mainly supplied with domestic products. Growth in the volume of the consumer market is projected to continue until the end of the current year. "The population will be provided with goods at affordable prices," said Sergei Rumas. -0-
