The existence of autonomous fire alarms is common knowledge today. However, many people still do not fully grasp the importance of this device and how it can detect danger in a timely manner, providing an opportunity to protect loved ones and property from fires.

Detecting a fire in its early stages can reduce potential damage, and in some cases, minimise consequences altogether. This is precisely the purpose of an autonomous fire alarm (AFA), which uses sensitive elements to react to smoke and emits a loud audible signal.

Practice shows that in homes (apartments) equipped with autonomous fire alarms, the safety level of residents is significantly increased.

If you have purchased an AFA, it is crucial to choose the correct installation location. The optimal spot is in the central part of the ceiling, slightly offset towards a window or door – where air currents circulate. When activated, the alarm emits a loud signal that even a sleeping person can hear.

People often ask how to silence the alarm if it activates when there is no fire, and what causes false alarms. To silence the alarm, it is necessary to ventilate the room or vacuum the alarm for a few seconds without removing it from the ceiling. False alarms can occur because vapours from fats and other substances enter the smoke chamber, settle on the plastic casing walls, and dry to form a dense deposit. Another reason for activation is smoke entering the chamber from a stove, from outside through an open door, or as a result of active smoking. However, this simply indicates that your alarm is working effectively, and the source of the smoke should be eliminated. The last reason, though extremely rare, is a malfunction of the alarm.

The alarm is powered by one "Korund" or "Krona" type battery. It is recommended to clean the fire alarm of dust with a vacuum cleaner once a year and to check its operability every month by pressing the test button.

Dear citizens! The consequences

irreversible – people who died in a fire cannot be brought back, and there is no possibility to correct anything. However, the fire alarm you have installed will not only warn you of the threat in advance but also give you a chance for salvation. To avoid tragic consequences, observe your own safety rules and protect your lives and property!
