The corresponding Decree No. 162 was signed by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, on April 29, as reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
Currently, the Federation of Trade Unions unites over 4 million working people. The organization initiated the establishment of a jubilee medal for the 115th anniversary of the trade union movement.
This award is intended to recognise trade union activists, labour veterans, and the best representatives of professions.
The medal is made of silver-coloured metal. Its obverse features a sculptural composition depicting figures of a male worker and a female peasant, with a shield between them bearing the inscription "Glory to Labour".
