The plan mentions various competitions, festivals, forums, etc. Thus, throughout 2016, the "Cultural Capital of Belarus" and "Patron of Culture in the Year of Culture" campaigns are planned, as well as national competitions – "City of Culture in the Year of Culture" (the most successful tourist centre) and "Person of the Year in Culture" (among the workers of this sphere). The results of the national competitions will be summarised in early 2017.
The modernisation and strengthening of the material and technical base of cultural institutions will continue, including the completion of the reconstruction of the complex of buildings and structures of the National Film Studio "Belarusfilm", and the completion of major repairs and reconstruction of premises of regional cultural institutions. The creation of the Museum Quarter in Minsk based on the National Art Museum of Belarus will continue (construction is planned to be completed in 2018).
In addition, in 2016, measures will be implemented to preserve historical and cultural heritage. In particular, the completion of the first phase of restoration and recovery work at the Corpus Christi Church in Nesvizh and the completion of the reconstruction with restoration of the 18th-century architectural monument – the Holy Intercession Monastery in Tolochin are planned. The European Heritage Days will be held, and a dossier "Celebration in honour of the Budslav Icon of the Mother of God" will be submitted to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
In June, the Republican Festival of National Cultures will traditionally be held, in July – the festival "Kupalye" ("Alexandria Gathers Friends"), in August-September – the international festival of ethnocultural traditions "Call of Polesia", in December – the conference "Second Belarusian Christmas Readings". The plan includes the international event "Night of Museums" (May) and the III National Forum "Museums of Belarus" (September-October). In May-June, the XIV Arts Festival "Mir Castle" and the festival "Musical Evenings in the Castles of Belarus" will also be held.
The National Theatre, Literary, and Music (for Pop Art) Awards are planned to be presented. In July, the jubilee XXV International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" will take place, in March – the international youth theatre forum "M.art. contact", in May – the International Festival of Puppet Theatres, in June – the XVI National Festival of Belarusian Song and Poetry, in September – the international theatre festival "Belaya Vezha", in September-October – the theatre art forum "TEART", in October – the XI Yuri Bashmet International Festival, in November – the XXIII "Listapad" International Film Festival.
Overall, the plan outlines the holding of festivals, competitions, exhibitions, and forums aimed at developing and popularising musical, choreographic, visual, theatrical, and film arts. This includes, among other things, the organisation of Days of Culture, Days of Belarusian Cinema abroad, and reciprocal events in Belarus.
Separately, in 2016, events dedicated to the jubilees of outstanding figures of Belarusian culture will be organised. These are timed to coincide with the 140th anniversary of the birth of Aloiza Pashkevich, the 125th anniversary of the birth of Maksim Bahdanovich, the 120th anniversary of the birth of Kondrat Krapiva, the 95th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Shamyakin and Ivan Melezh, and the 75th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Mulyavin.
The Day of Belarusian Written Language is scheduled for September 3-4.
In February-September, the charity creative marathon "Revival", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl NPP disaster, will be held. In June, events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War will be organised.
In December, the Forum of Creative Intelligentsia and Cultural Workers will take place.
