Instructions on the procedure for conducting the republican competition on professional skills among JuniorSkills Belarus students and the participation of the national team in international JuniorSkills competitions have been approved by the Resolution of the Ministry of Education dated August 28, 2018 No. 90, which was officially published today on the National Legal Internet Portal, BELTA reports.
The republican competition is aimed at creating conditions for early vocational guidance of students, opportunities for acquiring knowledge, skills, and practical experience in professional skills. It is also aimed at identifying talented children and youth, and creating conditions for the development of their creative abilities. Based on the results of the competition, a national team is formed to participate in international JuniorSkills competitions.
The republican competition includes four stages. The first qualifying stage is held in educational institutions, the second is at the district level, the district level for cities divided into districts, and the city level (except for Minsk). The third qualifying stage is at the regional and Minsk city level. The final, fourth stage, is republican.
Competitions are held in two age categories: 10-13 years old and 14-17 years old. Each participant or team is accompanied by an expert.
The Resolution also defines the main areas of training and conducting the republican competition.
A national team is formed to participate in international JuniorSkills competitions. The team includes winners of the republican competition or participants of its final stage, as well as experts in the competition competencies and the head of the national team from among the employees of the education system.
The Resolution enters into force after official publication.
