From May 27 to June 7, the State Automobile Inspectorate conducted a special comprehensive event "Attention - Children!". The main goal is to reduce the number of road traffic accidents involving minors and the severity of their consequences. Special attention will be paid to identifying violations of traffic rules by young pedestrians, as well as violations of the rules for transporting child passengers.

Since the beginning of the year, nine road traffic accidents have occurred in the Vitebsk region, in which nine children were injured. Among the victims, one child was a passenger and eight children were pedestrians.

Unfortunately, the causes of most accidents remain violations of elementary rules for crossing the roadway, namely crossing the road outside of pedestrian crossings and on a red traffic light.

There are many tragic examples. In the Tolochin district, a resident of Minsk, driving a Peugeot-806 car in the urban settlement of Kokhanovo, hit a first-grader from Gymnasium No. 21 in Minsk, who suddenly ran onto the roadway outside of a pedestrian crossing. As a result of the road traffic accident, the girl sustained bodily injuries and was hospitalized.

Do not violate the rules of safe behavior on the roads and do not be careless when getting behind the wheel of a car. Drive carefully near kindergartens, camps, schools, stadiums, squares, and parks.
