The database for Lepel District is the result of research work by educational institutions of Lepel District, the Lepel District Museum of Local Lore, the Lepel Centralized District Library System, the Department of Ideology and Youth Affairs of the Lepel District Executive Committee, and the 52nd Separate Specialized Search Battalion. The identification of new names and the addition of information are ongoing.

On the Public Cadastral Map of Belarus, there are over 9 thousand objects dedicated to the heroes and victims of the Great Patriotic War.

The National Cadastral Agency has completed the update of the thematic layer "Monuments of the Great Patriotic War and Citadels of Courage" on the public cadastral map of Belarus. The work was carried out on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and is aimed at preserving historical and cultural heritage, as well as ensuring accurate accounting and geolocation of objects of monumental art.

Key changes include: a new parameter "Monument Category" has been introduced, 384 new objects have been added, the coordinates of 660 monuments have been clarified, and photographs of 818 objects have been updated. As of January 2026, the layer contains information on over 9 thousand monuments dedicated to the heroes and victims of the Great Patriotic War.

Users can now obtain up-to-date information on the type and category of the monument, burial number and type, name, description, responsible party for maintenance, and the exact location of the objects.

The map also includes layers for:
- Places of destruction and burial of the population (previously unknown)
- Places of forced confinement (death camps) created by the Nazis during the occupation of the BSSR during the Great Patriotic War
- Monuments of the Great Patriotic War and Citadels of Courage
- Burned villages
