The limit for payments under the Europrotocol has been increased!

Today, Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 108 of March 18, 2025 "On Insurance" has been published.

As reported by the Main Directorate of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the document will come into force on April 23. In accordance with it, the limit of insurance compensation for registering road traffic accidents (RTAs) without calling the traffic police has been increased to 150 base units (6.3 thousand rubles). Currently, the limit is 800 euros.

The advantages of registering an RTA by independently filling out a European Accident Statement are speed and convenience, as drivers do not need to wait for traffic police officers to arrive. In this case, the insurer pays the victim insurance compensation based on the European Accident Statement, and the perpetrator is not brought to administrative responsibility.

In addition, the Decree provides for payments to victims in case of harm to life or health as a result of RTAs involving wild animals. However, compensation for property damage is not provided.
