An information and outreach group of the district executive committee, led by Igor Urban, Chairman of the Lepel District Council of Deputies, visited the agro-town of Sloboda. The group's visit was dedicated to the topic "Key Aspects of the Address by the President of the Republic of Belarus A.G. Lukashenko to the Belarusian People and the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus".

In particular, Igor Gennadievich noted that in matters of sovereignty and security in Belarus's foreign and domestic policy, there have been and will be no compromises. This was stated by the President of Belarus A.G. Lukashenko on April 19 in his Address to the Belarusian People and the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.

"The repeatedly experienced division of the Belarusian people and the redrawing of borders compel us to highly value today's unity and territorial integrity," said the Belarusian leader. The Head of State emphasized in this regard that the memory of the Great Patriotic War is inviolable and sacred: "Yes, our history began more than a thousand years ago, but it could have ended in the 1940s if not for the heroism of our Soviet people. On the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the fascist invaders, we will celebrate an important date for our statehood. A date that has become a symbol of the independence and freedom of our native land."

Igor Gennadievich also spoke about the socio-economic development of the Lepel district, the successes and achievements of the people of Lepel. Our district has people to be proud of. Out of 50 residents of the Vitebsk region awarded the honorary title "Person of the Year of the Vitebsk Region," five are from Lepel. Among them are Grigory Stosh, Chairman of the Board of Lepel District Union of Consumer Societies, Leonid Alekseenko, tractor driver-machinist of the "Zaozerie" Specialized Farming Enterprise of "Vitebsk Meat Packing Plant" JSC, Viktor Shershnev, veterinarian of the same farm, Sergey Belousov, section foreman of boiler houses and heating networks of "Borovka" Communal Unitary Enterprise, and Ilya Shendalesov, Chief Physician of the "Lepel Central Regional Hospital" Healthcare Institution.

This year, a new X-ray room has been opened at the healthcare institution "Lepel Central District Hospital" after modernization. The new facility is equipped with the latest digital equipment, enabling the production of higher quality X-ray images without exposing the patient to radiation.

Every year, young athletes from the Lepel region bring fame to the area with their achievements. They participate in numerous prestigious competitions at the regional, national, and international levels. This year, the decorated athlete Stepan Popov became the silver medalist of the European Championship.

The Lepel region takes pride in the successes of its decorative and applied arts masters and young specialists from various fields. By employing the latest methodologies and technologies, they achieve high results in their work. All of this leads to the conclusion that the Lepel region has a secure future.
