Riding Personal Mobility Devices (PMDs) while intoxicated is strictly prohibited!
According to Article 18.20 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus, for violating traffic rules, a person operating a bicycle or a PMD while intoxicated may be held liable with a fine ranging from 3 to 5 base units.A vehicle capable of speeds exceeding 25 km/h will be classified as a moped or a motorcycle.
Consequently, when operating under the influence of alcohol, the offender will be considered a vehicle driver. In this case, according to Article 18.15 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus,
if the degree of intoxication is less than 0.8 per mille, the offender will receive a fine of 100 base units and will be deprived of their driving license for a period of 3 years. If the degree of intoxication is more than 0.8 per mille, the fine will be 200 base units with the deprivation of the driving license for a period of 5 years.
