By opening and closing the sluice gates at the hydroelectric power station, employees of the electricity grids district regulate the water level in Lake Lepel. The low-snow winter handed over the baton to a relatively dry March, which posed a threat of a sharp decrease in the lake's water level. The level has been ensured to be sufficient for the operation of the turbines, as well as for the overall functioning of the ecosystems of Lake Lepel and the Ula River.
