Festive events dedicated to the oath-taking ceremony by new recruits were held in formations and military units of the Armed Forces across Belarus. On this day, over a thousand young men, including those from the Vitebsk region, solemnly swore allegiance to the Belarusian people. Traditionally, such ceremonies are attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defence, local authorities, public organisations, veterans, relatives, and friends. For instance, Major General Vadim Denisenko, Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces, Viktor Glushin, Deputy Chairman of the City Executive Committee, and Valerian Matskevich, Chairman of the regional organisation of the Belarusian Union of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan, came to congratulate the latest intake of the renowned 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade.

— This ritual has existed since ancient times and is a dedication to the noble and respected profession of the Fatherland's defender. It symbolises that the Belarusian people entrust you with the most precious thing – their security, — Vadim Denisenko addressed the soldiers. — Enhanced combat training awaits you, mastering your military occupational specialty and weaponry, and participation in exercises and live-fire drills. The state, for its part, has ensured that you have decent living, study, and rest conditions in the army.

The event took place on the drill ground of the celebrated formation. A demonstration performance by representatives of the reconnaissance company and an exhibition of weaponry were arranged for the guests. After the conclusion of the ceremony, the soldiers who took the oath were granted their first daytime leave.
