Currently, out of 3.5 million tons of whey produced, about 700 thousand tons are not utilized. As the minister noted, in two years, absolutely all whey will be processed and sold in the form of various products. Thus, waste-free production will be organized at milk processing enterprises.
The Governor of the Vitebsk region, Alexander Kosinets, reported to the head of state on the work of the Vitebsk concern "Meat and Dairy Products". Over 2.5 years, Br350 billion has been invested in the modernization and re-equipment of the concern's dairy plants and meat processing plants. This work will be fully completed in 2012, which will allow achieving 100% depth of processing of meat and dairy products. By 2015, it is planned to significantly increase the production of cheeses and dairy products.
Alexander Kosinets noted that milk product supplies from the Vitebsk region to Minsk have increased several times. In addition, the number of external sales markets has significantly increased. If the Vitebsk concern started exporting products to 11 countries, today it is supplied to 39.
The President believes that if the Vitebsk concern operates successfully and generates high profits, similar associations can be created in other regions of the country. "We need to look at the meat and dairy complex. If you consider it effective, let other regions follow suit," said the head of state, addressing the Vitebsk governor. -0-
