In 2021, on the territory of the Vitebsk region, there were registered

In 2021, the following were registered within the Vitebsk region:

135 traffic accidents involving pedestrians, resulting in 31 fatalities and 111 injuries;

33 traffic accidents involving cyclists, resulting in 7 fatalities and 26 injuries;

42 traffic accidents involving minors, resulting in 4 child fatalities and 43 child injuries. Of these, 6 accidents involved child pedestrians (1 child fatality, 15 injuries), and 7 accidents involved child cyclists (7 minors sustained injuries).

In 2022, 20 traffic accidents involving pedestrians have already been registered within the Vitebsk region, including 1 involving a minor road user.

To prevent and suppress traffic accidents involving vulnerable road users, a set of preventive measures aimed at preventing traffic accidents involving vulnerable road users will be carried out throughout the Republic of Belarus from March 17 to 18, 2022.
