It has become a tradition to hold the "Clean Forest" campaign every year. The forest fund is cleared of household waste and debris, especially near populated areas. The events are held on the initiative of the Ministry of Forestry. The campaign was first held in 2010.

The main task is to draw people's attention to the need to treat nature and forests with care, and not to litter them. Often, people forget to clean up after themselves when they have a rest. As a result, a beautiful, popular recreation area turns into an unsightly dump. I have encountered such a situation myself: arriving in nature with my family to relax, we first clean up after previous visitors. However, there are garbage containers within walking distance in all recreation areas.

…During the campaign, everyone was in a good mood, and the weather did not disappoint on that day. The tasks were briefly explained. Armed with gloves and garbage bags, they actively got to work. Transport was always nearby to dispose of household waste. It was evident from the faces of the volunteers, especially the children, that this work was not a burden to them. Sometimes adults can learn from them. And if the younger generation gets used to protecting nature now, then our forests will be clean in the future.

After the work, the children were treated to a surprise – a sweet table. Participants received souvenirs and commemorative gifts.

136 volunteers signed up, 161 people attended, as well as 254 employees of the forestry enterprise.

Lepel RANS, the district internal affairs department, Lepel RGS branch of VU "Chashnikigas" –, all schools of the district, E. Yerashova Gymnasium, the State Agrarian-Technical College, and other institutions.

Sites were organized throughout the district. The suburban forest, which is the most littered, was cleaned up. It is pleasing that there is less waste every year. About 26 cubic meters of waste were removed. Most often, plastic has to be cleaned up – these are the traces of our tourists' recreation. Plastic products are very common in our modern life, but they take a very long time to decompose. Great harm is done to nature and the forest. Unsanctioned dumps are also found. People are too lazy to take their trash to the container.

Humans cannot exist without nature, and the cleanliness of nature depends on us. Therefore, do not litter your life!
