In Belarus, over 355,000 believers participated in the celebration of Orthodox Palm Sunday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus informed BELTA.

The department added that over 46,000 people took part in events marking the celebration of Catholic Easter.

Public order during the religious holidays was ensured by employees of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee, the Internal Affairs Departments of Regional Executive Committees, the Internal Troops, and educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus. In order to prevent crimes and offences, close cooperation was established with bodies and units of the prosecutor's office, the Investigative Committee, the State Committee of Forensic Examinations, medical institutions, and others.

"Public order was fully ensured," the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasised.
