30 August, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. An electronic system for tracking currency purchases will be introduced in Belarus no later than October 2011. This was announced today by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting on socio-economic development of the country, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. The President instructed the National Bank to introduce an electronic system for tracking currency purchases by passport, on an individual basis for each buyer, by October at the latest, as is the practice in many countries worldwide, including Russia. "After everyone who needs this currency has, figuratively speaking, grabbed it, the exchange rate will strengthen to equilibrium. This has happened in all states. And we will ensure this. We have the resources for it," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized. According to him, the entire process of reaching an equilibrium exchange rate will not take much time. -0-
