September 16, Minsk /BELTA/. The President of Belarus has approved the procedure for awarding grants in the fields of science, education, healthcare, and culture. This is stipulated by Decree No. 425 "On Grants of the President of the Republic of Belarus in Science, Education, Healthcare, Culture," which Alexander Lukashenko signed on September 13, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The document establishes the procedure for awarding grants of the President of the Republic of Belarus to heads and specialists of organizations in science, education, healthcare, and culture for carrying out breakthrough scientific research and innovative projects of particular importance for the implementation of state programs and key areas of socio-economic development of Belarus. Up to 30 grants can be awarded annually in each sector. The monthly payment for each grant will be equal to 25 times the base tariff rate of the first category.

The Regulation on the Procedure for Granting and Payment of Grants, approved by the decree, defines the objectives for which grants can be awarded, the procedure for nominating and considering candidates for grants, making corresponding payments to recipients, and provides for measures of responsibility for recipients regarding the efficiency and effectiveness of the use of allocated funds.

The composition of the Republican Commission for considering candidates nominated for grants has also been approved. The commission includes heads and representatives of state bodies, recognized and authoritative specialists in science, education, healthcare, and culture.-0-
