In Belarus and Russia, the feat and memory of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War are honored.

We celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory together.

On January 27, 2024, Russia marked the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade, which lasted for almost 900 days.

And today, a delegation consisting of Igor Urban, Chairman of the District Council of Deputies, Vasily Pshonko, Chairman of the Council of Veterans, and Elvira Podlepenkina, Head of the Home Social Assistance Department of the Lepel District Territorial Center for Social Services, visited Boris Alexandrovich Poryadkin on an honorary mission. As a child, Mr. Poryadkin, a resident of Lepel, experienced the hardships of blockade life: hunger, cold, constant threat to life from bombings and shelling, fear, and the loss of loved ones. He still carries a special mission: to remind the whole world of the tragedy of besieged Leningrad and the unparalleled feat of its defenders and residents.

Igor Urban presented our fellow countryman with an honorary badge on behalf of the Government of St. Petersburg, "In Honour of the 80th Anniversary of the Complete Liberation of Leningrad from the Fascist Blockade."

Honouring the blockade survivor veteran, we bow low – to those who endured, survived, and conquered. We wish all those who survived the blockade good health, high spirits, and all the very best, – wished Igor Gennadyevich.
