The Resolution defines the procedure for taking examinations: first, theoretical, then practical. A person who has passed the theoretical examination is allowed to take the practical examination within the next 6 months, after which the theoretical examination is assigned again. The practical examination on a training vehicle is taken in two stages: the first - at the driving range, the second - on a test route in real traffic conditions. Repeated examinations are scheduled no earlier than six days from the day following the last examination.
For those who failed the theoretical examination or one of the stages of the practical examination from the third and subsequent attempts, a repeat examination is scheduled no earlier than 30 days later. In case of failure to present the examination card for theoretical and practical examinations to the RUEP for obtaining a driver's license within three years, theoretical and practical examinations are assigned again.
The theoretical examination, taken using test questions with automated systems, should not exceed fifteen minutes, and using paper-based test questions - no more than thirty minutes. The decision to accept the theoretical examination using paper-based test questions is made by the chairman of the commission in agreement with the examiners. A positive grade of "passed" is awarded if the examinee has made no more than one incorrect answer. Persons who, within the specified time, have not answered all the questions in the examination ticket are given a "failed" grade.
